The P. Jentschura ® Brush range
The P. Jentschura brushes
P.
Jentschura brushes are manufactured in a German factory which has been producing
high quality brushes for more than 165 years.
The body of the brush is made from solid beech wood or beech plywood, which is
protected against water by an immersion process which gives it a fine wax
coating. If brushes are used in water, over time the wood will change color and
small cracks may form, but these natural processes in the “working” wood do not
affect the quality in any way.
P. Jentschura brushes are made with natural bristles. The best bristle quality
is that of the traditional brand Chungking Tiger, which is used in P. Jentschura
brushes. The hard first cut of the approximately 120 mm long natural black
bristles, as used for example in the P. Jentschura hairbrush, is also known as
“wild boar bristles”.
The light colored bristles which are used in the cosmetic brush as well as in the professional massage brush, facial and bath brushes, are bleached for a more attractive appearance.

Important information about caring for P. Jentschura brushes
The bodies
of the brushes are made of solid waxed beech wood, or beech plywood. The
bristles used are high quality, pure, first cut wild boar bristles, horse mane
hair for the facial brush and bronze and horsehair bristles for the energy
brush. This means our brushes are top class natural products. Plywood brushes are more suitable for wet brushing in an alkaline bath as the wooden bodies do not “work” so strongly in the water or discolor like the solid beech wood brushes. But please remember that when a natural product such as wood comes into contact with water, there can always be some discoloration.
For wet brushing please note the following:
- Wooden brushes should not be left floating in the water for the whole of your
bath. When you take a pause from brushing, please place the brush bristles
downwards on the edge of the bath.
- After alkaline wet brushing, the bristles should be rinsed with clear water, excess water should be tapped off and the brush should be placed bristles downwards on a dry towel.
- Wooden brushes should not be placed on warm heating appliances or dried with a
hairdryer. This can damage the wooden body of the brush by causing drying
cracks, which may lead to individual clumps of bristles falling out.
- If necessary the bristles may be washed in lukewarm soapy water, but without excessively wetting the wooden body.
Information about the P. Jentschura energy brush:
The energy brush is suitable for dry brushing. To clean the bristles, stroke the
energy brush several times using the hand and nail brush, then tap the energy
brush on a hard surface to remove particles of skin and dust.
